The Derby Constructing Excellence Club launch will take place on 25 September 2007 at Derbyshire County Cricket Club

The Derby Constructing Excellence Club is being established by local industry professionals. The Club will provide the environment for business to business networking and a place to share and exchange best practice relevant to the Derby construction industry. The Club is part of a national network of over 30 clubs, formed as a local movement of change in the built environment sector. The Club provides a unique opportunity for client’s contractors, professionals, manufactures, suppliers and trades to engage in discussions relevant to local organisations operating in the Derby area.   

The Club will bring the benefits of ‘best practice’ at a practical, personal and local level within the built environment and will support Constructing Excellence’s vision for the UK construction industry to realise maximum value to all clients, end users and stakeholders and exceed their expectations through the constant delivery of world-class products and services.

The Club launch event will provide an introduction to the remit of the club, vision and the benefits of joining. Speakers will cover:  

• The Government’s construction agenda, its priorities and the support it has in place for improving the sector and the opportunities being created locally.
• 2012 commitments - the industry’s commitment to improve the performance of the sector.
• Public sector procurement and delivery of a construction projects in Derby.
• The specific programme of events planned by the Club committee following the launch.
