This is the event for people working in homelessness and lettings for Local Authorities, RSLs and the Voluntary sector.

This year’s conference promises to be the biggest and best Annual Homelessness and Lettings Conference yet!

Whether it is finding out about future Government policy for homelessness and allocations or hearing about practical ways for improving your service this conference is a must. In last year’s feedback, 100% of delegates rated the overall programme as very good or good.

It is also a lot of fun, book early to avoid disappointment!

About the conference

Everyone should have the opportunity of a decent home at a price they can afford, in a place in which they want to live now and in the future, that promotes opportunity and a better quality of life in a secure and attractive environment. In pursuit of this, there have been many Government initiatives in the last year:

• The Government has set a challenging target: to halve the number of households living in temporary accommodation by 2010.
• CLG’s aim is: By 2010, to bring all social housing into decent condition, with most of the improvement taking place in deprived areas, and to increase the proportion of private housing in decent condition occupied by vulnerable groups.
• The Government’s 5 year housing plan, Sustainable Communities: Homes for All, published in January 2005, set out the Government's plans for taking forward its CBL policy. The aim is to have in place choice nationwide by 2010.
• The Department is making available £4 million over three years (2005-2008) to fund new sub-regional and regional CBL schemes.
